The LED Guide: Flush vs. Semi-Flush Mounts

When upgrading your interior decor, you want to get efficient light sources to deliver the right amount of ambient brightness required for your interiors.

The ceiling light is an essential part of your home decor and is installed in living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, etc. There are mainly five kinds of ceiling lights present in the current scenario - Flush mounts, semi-flush mounts, track lights, pendants, and chandeliers.

Semi-Flush mounts

Out of these five, let us understand flush mounts and semi-flush mounts. These light fixtures make your interiors bright and stylish while bringing a 50% reduction in power consumption.

Flush mount lights

These are light fixtures that do not have any gap between the ceiling and the fixture. They are available in different sizes and shapes and can be easily installed. The light fixture blends well with your interior decor and makes the place attractive.

  • The dust accumulation inside the flush mount lights is next to nil, so there is less requirement for cleaning.

  • The light fixtures are a perfect choice for 8-feet ceilings.

  • The flush mount lights provide adequate brightness and do not pose safety concerns for tall people inside the house.

Semi-flush mount lights

These light fixtures are the same as the flush mounts and come with a gap between the fixture and the ceiling. In addition, there is a small stem part that holds the fixture safely. The gap between the ceiling and the light fixture provides an ornamental look to the fixture.

Flush mounts

  • The light fixtures are an excellent choice for 9-10 feet ceilings.

  • The replacement of bulbs is easier in semi-flush mounts.

  • Cleaning of dust accumulation is required for the semi-flush mounts.

Selecting the correct fixture for your interior depends on the room, you are installing the lights. Select from different styles available such as classic, modern, traditional, etc. and improve your indoors and complement the furniture and decorative elements present inside your room.
